Independence Day is annually celebrated on 15 August, commemorating the nation's independence from the British on 15 August 1947. India's gaining of independence was a tryst with destiny, witnessing the sacrifices of many freedom fighters, who laid down their lives on the line.

StoryMirror in collaboration with Swami Shri Swaroopanand Saraswati Mahavidyalaya, has come up with "Rang De Basanti Chola" - A writing contest to create a patriotic mood surrounding this year’s Independence Day.

The theme for the entries will revolve around patriotism.

Rules:

1. The poem / story should be original, unpublished. Articles, essays, etc. are not allowed.

2. The minimum word limit for a poem is 200 words and the story is 150 words.

3. Participants can send multiple contents.

4. The minimum age limit for the contest is 16 years

5. Entries received after 31 August 2020 will not be included in the competition.

6. There is no entry fee for participation in the Contest.

7. Any submission made over email or as hard copy or without using the contest link will not be eligible for entry.

8. The Participant is requested to not submit / post any spam, foul, indecent, threatening, discriminatory, vulgar and/or any such entry which is against public morality, as the same may lead to disqualification.
