StoryMirror in collaboation with Literati, IIT Delhi presents LitFair - Pitch Your Book Idea!

First Round

Submit information about your book idea. You have to submit a synopsis and one chapter of your manuscript on StoryMirror. The entries shall be judged for the following: 1. Novelty of the idea 2. Story/ Plot 3. Character build-up 4. Depth Kindly ensure that the synopsis is free from errors, otherwise there may be a penalty for the same. The top 15 entries will be shortlisted for the finals.

LitFair - Finale

What happens if you are selected for the finals? Come up with the best possible way to present your idea to our jury consisting of Vandana Palli, Dwivesh Mehta, Abhimanyu Jamwal, Lalitha Ravindran and Lata Gwalani. Presentation can be made in any form which best suits the idea of the book be it a musical performance, dance, slam, slide-deck, storytelling, stand up or literally anything else. This shall be followed a discussion with the jury.

Witness the upcoming writers and poets present their work at LitFair, as we bring to you the first-ever pitch fest of this kind in NCR. LitFair is a celebration of varied art forms, a rendition of words that shall capture you with its mere freshness. In its crux lies the platform which every unpublished writer dreams for, and a jury you'd always want your work to be reviewed by. Come for the exciting pieces we have in store for you, or for a candid chat with some of the biggest names in the writing and publishing industry.

Pitch your book ideas to the jury and win exciting prizes worth INR 8,000 as well as a chance to get your book published!

Jury:

  1. Lata Gwalani, has enjoyed a career spanning over three decades as a journalist, a columnist, a corporate trainer before turning into a full-time writer. Her writings have appeared in The Hindu, The Indian Express, ME Magazine, and Arre. Road to Abana is her third book, after her debut Incognito (a psychological thriller) and Prisoners of Secrets (literary fiction). She also teaches creative writing and storytelling through her forum called Kathaasis.
  2. Dviwesh Mehta, is the Director for Middle East and South Asia at Harvard Business School Publishing.. With over 13 years of experience, he has worn multiple hats from leading marketing, analytics and strategy to building learning products. His passion and areas of interest is around building experiential learning for today’s learners and transforming the modern higher education landscape for a more inclusive and sustainable world.
  3. Abhimanyu Jamwal, born in bitter winters of Jammu, is a novelist and a short story writer. Conflict, chaos and hope within humans and all around the world are the main drivers of Abhimanyu's writing style. One can often hear him say "I didn't choose writing, writing chose me." SAAT, a collection of seven multi genre short stories, is Abhimanyu's latest book.
  4. Vandana Palli, is a founder of Highbrow Scribes Publications. After being a teacher, an editor and a writer at different times, she started the publication in 2018 with a motto to support aspiring writers and has published titles under various genres, fiction, non-fiction, children and academic. After establishing a name in the publishing industry, her entrepreneurial skill took a leap and she barged into the tourism industry and started a holiday resort (Tiger Estate) in the foothills of Himalayas in Rishikesh.
  5. Lalitha Ravindran, is the founder of First Forays Literary Agency. Her enterprise provides comprehensive author management services for publishing many fiction genres and non-fiction books. Lalitha has lived and worked in India, Hong Kong and the United States. She now lives in Pune, India. Today, she represents over 50 authors from around the world, has almost 50 published books and half a dozen books signed up for adaptation to screen.
