3,15,36,000 Seconds

On a bright spring morning,

Without our usual chauffeur,

We chose to go grocery shopping.

The mask was in the proper place,

My hair was tied in a ponytail,

Gloves were covering the hands.

Carrying sanitizer in our pocket,

We were keen to go shopping.

Three sixty-five days have now passed,

I can clearly visualize the scene from last year.

We have spent 3,15,36,000 seconds

To breathe after that shopping day.

These may be mere figures playing havoc in life.

" Sanitizer" and "Masks" are crucial even now.

Not to overlook the "social distancing."

They are the present rulers,

And we have no luck in this world.

It seems there is another parallel world,

In which we are living at present.

We have indeed come a long way for sure.

The keywords that are now trending:

" Vaccine," "Antibody," and "Second Wave."

"E-Pass," "Night Curfew" has sneaked in.

It can not rest in peace,

And not letting us live in peace.

Covid-19 is an attention grabber,

Who does not want to grab the center stage?

The virus is not ready to finish the match,

I believe it is not its forte.

But, spreading and slaying is its dominance.

We cannot let lowering our guards down,

That day is not approaching so soon.

We are the intelligent creations of God,

We had stepped backward for a while,

But we are not defeated from the inside.

Black clouds would start to disappear,

The Sun would appear clear.

We are firm in mind,

And we need to prove it.

We ought to eradicate our fear,

But careful folks not to fail now.

People are restless presently,

All eager to revert back to the regular days.

Very soon, it will come, dudes.

It's stern master Corona's first anniversary,

Gosh! We are not interested in the celebration.

365 days and more, we have survived till now,

Without any outer experience, we are staying alive.

We are ending the covid-19 deal in the fastest way,

But do not forget to cover the face with the mask.

Awaiting to do away with the pandemic,

but it looks too early.

Covid-19 is not thrilled to part with us,

Clinging to humans like Parasites.

Mutant viruses are rising daily,

New variant strains have shown their faces.

Shall we face another lockdown?

This fear will not go away from our minds.

Life is not back to normal, yet,

We cannot put the mask down.

Who knows what is stored in the future?

Only have faith and stay safe.

Vaccination seems God sent for now,

Grab the opportunity to get jabbed.

We have exceeded in spending three crore seconds,

From the last lockdown.

How can we allow Covid-19 to overpower us at this stage?

We are close to winning the battle.

There is a gleaming shine,

Twinkling at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel.
