A Bouquet Of Wishes
A Bouquet Of Wishes
May your sleepy grey cells
Tired from yesterday’s toils
Be gently tapped awake
To a lovely new day
By the aroma of fresh brew
A cup of steaming coffee
Served with love, at bed
May your hair remain in place
And shoes be your companion
Without its notorious bites
No traffic jams when you are in a hurry
A parking space just for you, always ready
May your clothes unrwrinke itself
And not cut you in uncomfortable ways
May you have an umbrella handy
On a wet rainy day
May there be a helping hand
To lift you up with a cheer
And to wipe a tear
When you happen to skid and fall
May you come back home
To your cosy comfortable corner
Welcomed by a steaming pot of dal kichadi
With spicy raita, pickle and papad
Filling you with warmth
On a cold wintry evening
A bouquet of wishes wrapped in love
Just for you, to soak yourself
In the effervescent bliss
And not be swamped by the pointless tricks
Of the mind and its histrionics
And feel alive in the here and now
I cannot wish for larger things
For I do not spin the wheel of fortune
But this I pray and hope for you
That your heart be filled with happiness
In many beautiful small ways
