A Different Path

She wanted her daughter

To become a doctor

But I said 'no.'

Just because I played

Doctor doctor as a kid

Didn't mean that I had

To grow into one.

Her grandson

Chose that path though

So maybe now

She's happy at last

And is smiling down at him

From up above.
