A Dream
A Dream
As the doorbell rang, and I opened it casually,
Expecting a courier boy with some parcel big
But, you stood there smiling, tall and towering
I froze like ice, unable to respond, talk or move
You, the creator of a thousand paintings, poems
Which I adored, were priceless, my ever-loving creations
This creator himself you were at my door, how blessed am I
You sat on my tiny sofa, uncaring for the discomfort
With your usual divine smile, I drank my hot coffee happily
And hours and hours we got drowned in our own, happy world
I kept talking on and on and you listened patiently, admiring
Once in my lifetime, there was someone who listened to me
All that unfinished dreams, unwritten poems deep lined in my heart
Oh God, the cruel alarm rang, once again I woke up to the world
I started serving my family, as usual, my dear and loved once
None of them even looked at my face for the coffee hot
Not anyone had time to talk when I did all their chores one by one
This life, I know very well that it will continue like this forever
Unless I am lucky and blessed to get that dream once again
Where my loving hero, you will come again to listen to me
