Behind The Veil

I saw her standing in front of me

Someone who has been hidden for ages as could be.

Scared and shy to face the world.

Whatever she went through 

Never uttered a word.

I still hear her laugh on the simplest of things

Always happy with what life would give.

There she would be sitting quiet 

With no complains

Hiding all her sorrow and all her pain.

Never ever did she step out all alone

She needed a hand to bring her back home.

People, places would make her feel strange

Never would she try to confront at any stage.

I still remember her hide

Shiver, feel scared

Never open up and never ever confide.

Today she is there within me

My alter ego more bold, fearless yet sympathetic to all and sundry.
