Innocent spirits,

before the Governor's court.

Perceptive, profound,

when tricked through a tiny door,

bravehearts enter feet-first.

Lively jaikara,

two zestful voices, loud, clear,

before the rivals.

Their curtsy, for Lord alone,

upright they stand, no kowtow.

Court, truly dumbstruck,

cajoles and wheedles these cubs.

Haven of their faith,

life, land, wealth, wives and riches,

promise to grant all wishes.

The fledglings of Light, 

brazen and bold, spurn all baits. 

Baptized as Khalsa,

unyielding and unswerving, 

the cubs follow begetters. 

Death over their bribes, 

lioncubs smilingly choose. 

A baron outcries. 

Shaken and scared, Sirhind gasps

as the villains impale them. 

Unwavering still, 

not believing their pretense, 

back at Cold Tower, 

they laugh at smallness of Court. 

The Gran looks at them fondly. 

They dine on Thy name, 

And drink the nectar of faith.

Snug, warm Thy embrace, 

best salve, they revivify, 

tower rings with thanksgiving.
