Shines through the broken barriers

A temporary uplift

From a dark abode

The silent wars we wage

Against innocent minds

Love can conquer

But it takes time

Too much time

Why is it so hard

To bare our deepest fears

Insecurities and needs

Won't you understand

The unspoken plea

Doesn't your heart beat the same

Don't you see or don't you want to see

Is blindness preferable

To understanding

Broken shattered pieces

Painfully glued together

To break again?
