Dappled Sunlight

Snuggling back into the comforter,

She stretched languorously and burrowed further deeper,

The first peek through the layers of a dull grey morning,

Sent her back sleepily to the cosy warmth, yawning!

 

The thought of an inviting cup of tea and biscuits,

Lifted her ‘want-to -hibernate- forever’ spirits;

Crawling cautiously out of her safe cocoon,

She made her way towards the plate and the spoon!

 

The courageous sun valiantly showed up at noon,

Lingering on the terrace, it lovingly spread its boon;

It enveloped her in its cosy warm embrace,

Sighing gratefully, she smiled up to its face!

 

Mellow rays of sunbeams spread through her,

Making up for the loss of a thick coat of fur!

Heated by the golden sun rays,

Swirling frosty air drowned as if in a braise!

 

Sparkling with delight, she took in the scene,

Snow layered mountains and icy spiked leaves;

Winter sights are marvellous to behold,

So long you are sheltered from the cold.
