Empty Nest
Empty Nest
The scribblings on the walls of my house
Haven't grown anymore.
The toys on the stand stare silently.
Books are in place on the shelf-
In alphabetical order.
Snacks in the kitchen
Have remained untouched.
My home looks spick-and-span
So much in order.
No screams anymore,
As I used to do in dismay.
No loud music,
No chitter-chatter...
The pin-drop silence
That I always craved for.
But, my mind chatters forever
Secretly, misses the old Golden days.
To be messed up,
To go mad again,
With the nuisance
Because, the silence is killing me inside-
Silently..…
