FACE UNKNOWN
FACE UNKNOWN
In the total darkness of that night, I stood
A handful of tablets, capsules clutched
He came from my back, I felt his breath warm
As I turned, he whispered, “No, don’t do that”
Later he always came, his warmth overflowing
At all my darkened nights, as I stood pained alone
Without fail his strong hands, comforted me
Neither I saw his face, nor know who he was
Magic of that warmth, unknown in my life so far
Kept me tied so tight, around the unknown soul
Now no more dark nights but flooded daylight here
Will it ever happen, that he, a loving soul will come?
Will he remember, the unknown face he saved?
Staring at the uncertainty, I continue to wait with
Not clutching capsules, but his soft memories
