FATE OR DESTINY?

Worked hard for four decades, felt it's time to retire and take time off 

Papers received, pension granted and benefits noted; big sigh of relief

While going through letters I found an application form for free bus pass

What a great opportunity to travel nationwide without spending a penny!

 

Stopped driving my car, sent my application and I got my free bus pass

Next day I was excited, tried to use my bus pass and make a town trip. 

Bus stop is eighty yards from my home and I waited for a bus to board,

Big crowd waiting for next bus I was able to join the line as last person.

 

Bus arrived at the stop, everybody was getting into the bus one by one

When nearing the bus steps I noticed a frail man with a stick behind me.

Bus conductor was shouting 'one more' I decided to help the elderly man

Held his hands to board the bus safely and I decided to wait for next bus

 

I was lucky to get next bus within a few minutes and kept going on my trip

Close to town we saw a major bus accident and big crowd on our path 

Bus couldn't pass through that spot, stopped and we all got down worried

We are shocked to see some people dead including the man we helped!

 

Road accidents are sad stories and we do learn more lessons and suffer

This fatal accident upset everyone, they'll wondered, it's fate? or destiny!

Helped this elderly man with compassion that saved me from an accident

How's our life uncertain in this world? What's reality? I'm truly puzzled? 

                                        FATE OR DESTINY!
