Five 'Ks'
Five 'Ks'
I'm a student of guru.
I'm a learner of Gobind Singh.
I'm some different, from you all.
But not a distance.
I wore the 5 articles of faith, pride and identity.
The five ks.
The k denote 'khalsa'.
The kesh (uncut hair)
Long and strong, element of ether
Symbolizes strength & wisdom of all.
The kanga (a wooden comb)
Revitalize energy, the element of earth
Symbolizes cleanliness of mind & body.
The kara (an iron bracelet)
Not an ornament; but the fighting air element of oneness.
Symbolizes the eternity of God with no beginning no ending.
The kachera (a cotton undershots)
Element of water,
Symbolizes chasity & purity.
The kirpan (a ceremonial sword)
Out of two 'kirpa' means kindness; 'aan' means dignity.
The element of fire raised only in protection of honor of one's self;
For defenseless.
Symbolizing power & self-respect.
A sanctum, open to all caste, creed, and every religion
The Sikhism is brotherhood under one roof - one root for all origins.
