Formality

You wanted to cry a little more,

but your tears were not awaited to be wiped off your face.

You wanted to hold that hand tightly and never let it go,

but your muscles were not is sync with destiny.

You wanted to visit those places you had only dreamt of,

but your wings were chopped off even before you began crawling.

You wanted to fall in love, as many times as it would take to finally rise in it,

but you were at your lowest already, so low that you could not fall any further.

You burned in vengeance, you wanted to set your soul on fire,

but it was absolutely empty and there was nothing left in there that could be burnt.

You wanted, for once, your bones to freeze and your blood to stop gushing through your veins,

but your skin was thickened beyond insulation by heat of experiences.

You kept going thinking - that's life as we know it,

you never realised that when there's nothing intact within you,

that death is nothing but a formality for you.
