Greatest Magic Act
Greatest Magic Act
My child and I were at the big theatre -
And the conjurer so cleverly pulled out
A small white rabbit rapidly from his hat,
Looking so surprised it was not a cat;
He made fresh flowers fall from an empty
Unfolded handkerchief, and a woman within
A big black box just vanish into thin air and
Reappear... he juggled colourful pretty plastic
Balls blindfolded, catching them as they fell,
Missing not even one, while all said "Well done!"
But the greatest act of magic was not his,
But it was the enthralled and joyous wonder that
I espied in my watching young six-year-old
Daughter's innocent and guileless bright eyes!
