How Long?

We lie in the self locked cages

Waiting for someone to say

Hey! Come on join us for a party!

Lockdown further extended

For indefinite period!

Don't know how long

This would last!

Losing patience

No remedy in sight!

I had planned an outing 

With all fanfare

But learned

No plane, no bus, no rail

Would take us .....

Forget the ship!

Blazing sun gives sunburn

Can't venture to step out 

For a walk!

Empty roads give

Eerie feeling

Whole city

In the mourning mood!

Supplies depleting

Racks emptied

No more fun in shopping!

Urchins nag asking

Papa I wanna go out to play!

Same old serials on the tube

Can't watch the deadly news!

Open sesame 

Give us respite

Restore health

Mend things right!
