I Am A Master Baiter
I Am A Master Baiter
I am a master baiter,
It’s more career than work,
And though you think it strange and queer,
Because I do it on the pier,
I’m really not a jerk.
A master baiter’s hours are long,
The pay is but a tease,
You try to walk around this place,
With people always in your face,
And master bait to please.
There’s always those who choose to sit,
Until I’m almost done,
But others need a master bait,
They’re so excited they can’t wait,
For me to drop and come.
And pull a wiggler from my pouch,
To master bait right there,
I take a look,
Then grasp the hook,
Another worm I share.
A master baiter’s job is fun,
You meet the greatest folks,
You talk with them then pull one out,
No one’s surprised, nobody shouts,
Though sizes often bring some joker.
I am a master baiter,
And proudly I stand tall,
So never fear,
When I draw near,
I’ll master bait you all.
