I Am Me

I shall sing

- Yes, my voice cracks

- But each time I bounce back.

I shall run

- Bone-weary, exhausted, I fall often

- Yet, to stay the course, I am determined.

I shall fight

- Scared stiff, I am unable to lift the sword

- My inner voice leading me to the reward.

I shall write

- With me, words play hide and seek

- My ink flows, undeterred by the critique.

I shall speak

- Daunted by the crowd, I stutter

- Still, I make my opinions matter.

I shall paint

- The picture is not perfect

- My colours brush away the defects.

You see everything

- Unshackled by your laws

- Unashamedly, I flaunt my flaws.

I am naked, I am free

Wearing only a smile, I am ME.
