Immortal

Immortal, oh immortal,

A word of power and might.

A state of being beyond the mortal,

A journey to eternal light.

To live forever, never to die,

To watch the ages pass us by.

To see the world in a different hue,

And never age, always anew.

To see the wonders of the earth,

And all that life has to offer in its worth.

To witness the rise and fall of nations,

And marvel at the constellations.

But immortality is not without cost,

For with it comes a burden to be lost.

To watch loved ones pass away,

And to carry on without them each day.

To see the beauty in all that fades,

And to bear witness to the world's shades.

To hold within oneself the knowledge of time,

And the secrets that make life sublime.

Immortality, oh immortal,

A blessing and a curse alike.

A journey that will never falter,
