Independence Day

They say 15th August is our Independence day

A false notion most people have today

Celebrating hypocrites gather around anyway

Hoisting the tricolor and saluting in their own way

Unable to pronounce with its meaning unknown

Singing the national anthem come what may

They shout their vocal cords to the air

29 states and 7 union territories till yesterday

Count just increased with more being added every day

Over a thousand languages as their mother tongue

And scores of castes under the Hindu religion

Some religions are far better than what many say

With history distorted, Indians became retarded

The constitution got hidden and human rights got poisoned

People fighting each other over every hear and say

Divided across the four quadrants and further, I must say

Humanity lost to the seven deadly sins

Show me the independence if it really exists today!!!
