Irony Of Women's Day
Irony Of Women's Day
I am a normal human being;
I wake up every morning,
Hoping things will be alright,
Almost for three decades;
I lost the dream I had in the run...
For what I don't know:
A better life may be or for more money;
Yet, frankly for nothing purposeful -
I am caught in this corporate chaos,
I give my best -
Reach to office in time,
Genuinely give productivity for 7 hours,
Sometimes for more than 10 hours,
Going out of the way to resolve critical issues...
I drive home with own bike,
Saving company transport money;
No dramas I make to grab attention;
Indeed, I keep forgetting who I am:
I am still a woman - a weakling!
Being transparent at work is harmful;
Taking care of my friends is sinful;
Spending my weekends in social service
Is out of my inefficiency to marry a guy
And have a family of my own!
Indeed, goodness is very old trend,
And always taken for granted...
I also keep forgetting,
I work in a project of 7 teams:
Led by 7 alpha males,
Whom are led by further 3 more Alphas,
Who have the benefits to be as clumsy as possible,
Who have the liberty to bring huge escalations,
And get over with a bottle of beer!
I received Women's day wishes:
From many such alpha males saying:
"Behind every successful man, there’s a strong woman!"
The same men are scared to be behind a woman's success,
They are intimidated by meticulous diligence of a woman's work,
Who are pushing women to be behind them.
Neither I want to be behind any man's success,
Nor I want any man to be behind my success!
It's simple: I work same as any man does
I deserve the equal applauds and respect...
Though a woman proves herself as equal,
This patriarchal society wants her to give excuses,
For the gender she was born,
And plead for her success!
So called developed countries,
Where women's liberty and empowerment
Are glorified through a magnifying glass;
Are still hesitant to elect a woman to power!
