Last Day of the College- The Day I Met You

College is supposed to be the best days of life

But little did I know that it's going to be an amazing phase of my life.

How often it's said sometimes it takes a lot of meeting to fall in love with someone, 

But if you are fortunate it just takes one small meeting to know that the magic of love has worked on you.

I often regret, though being on the same campus, how come I didn't noticed you,

It's my fault that even when love was right in front of my eyes, I was not aware of it.

Pardon me that I was not strong enough to confess my love for you 

How could I have done that knowing I stood no chance in front of you.

Don't get me wrong if I tell you that I did notice you on the campus walking around with your group,

It was so refreshing and a blissful feeling to even notice you from the distance.

I often thought that at least I should approach you and talk to you and at least be a friend with you,

But the fear of losing you even as a friend stopped me from even trying it.

Destiny had some interesting plans that worked totally in my favour, 

On the last day of college, when you were about to leave the premises and waiting for the cab

My friends unaware of my feelings for you; asked me to accompany them to the airport with you,

I jumped on this opportunity, thinking at least I get to spend some time with you.

I still remember how beautiful and adorable you looked that day,

Though amid friends, all I could do was notice you.

The way we connected surprised everyone in the group except me 

Because I knew this is the chance that the universe has offered to me.

The journey came to an end quickly, but it was special since I sensed a spark of connection between us.

At least this initiated the foundation of our friendship that I craved for so long.

Even being in different cities we stayed connected because when hearts are connected, distance can't fall them apart.

The more I started knowing you, the more sure I was, we were made for each other. 

And then finally, taking the big risk of my life, I decided to confess my love for you. 

I valued your friendship, but I also wanted this relationship in my life as my life partner.

I recall how I visited you and seeing the right opportunity went down on my one knee to propose and pour out my feeling to you.

You went all blank for a fraction of seconds as if how did I even think of doing this to you

Trust me when I say this your expression was almost about to kill me and then to my surprise. 

You gave your killer smile and nodded a " Yes"

And said,' You idiot, you made me wait for this moment for so long and I thought you'll never propose me only.

Even after being married so long to my best friend,

Our tale from "Friendship" to "Love" still holds a special place in my heart.
