Late Appreciation
Late Appreciation
Late to appreciate your love,
I knew then but I did not,
Because I feel it was too tough,
That my young heart failed to realize.
Love was real though it sounded rare,
I sensed it but I'd taken less care,
For I thought it was not so fair,
But it was the best, nothing better.
As a young boy love to savor,
I had tasted all its flavor,
Such sweet, salty, bitter and sour,
But my heart longed for something more.
Late to appreciate your care,
Now, wishing you are still here,
So I say a little prayer,
May you be happy with our father.
