Leniency

The mind should not be given any leniency

If it is allowed to take one luxury today,

 it will demand two tomorrow.

The luxuries will then increase daily.

The mind will become like

an over fondled child.

"'Spare the rod and spoil the child."

 This applies to the mind also.

 It is worse than a child.

You have to punish it by

 lasting if it commits serious mistakes.

Gandhiji did so and made his will pure,

 strong and irresistible.

A careful eye is needed to be put

over the defects and they

 are sure to vanish sooner or later.

 

Destroy the impurities one by one,

little by little.

Finally, destroy them

completely to the very root.
