Let Me Be Me

Set me free for one time,

Let me breathe freedom,

Let me be content again,

Let me hold the rein of life,

Let me loosen up from your grip,

Let me be me.

Let me stay the way I am,

It's my choice & not yours,

You may not accept the new me,

But I crave to live on my own,

With the lifestyle, I have chosen,

Let me be me.

I owe you nothing in time,

My flaws are solely mine,

No explanation or justification,

For my actions in any events.

Nothing will change your mind,

Even I do not need to be a star,

So let me be me.

I hate to be admired by several,

No tags to define my existence.

I may make mistakes on the way,

But, I will try to proceed with caution,

Listen to me with a clear sense,

I have a mind of my own,

Let me go from the prison of your beliefs,

And let me be me.

What is there to think further?

God is kind to endow me,

With numerous great qualities,

I am able of taking care of myself,

Even have the inner strength to deal,

With the obstacles on the road.

I am me, a happy me,

I am not like others,

Not meant to be like anyone.

I am filled with a brave heart,

A fearless spirit & active mind.

Let me be me.

I have the vital inner energy,

To achieve & deal with obstacles,

Even to unlock my hidden powers.

Put me out from my distress,

And help me to realize my goal,

Let me be me.

I am requesting your support,

Not rebelling or shouting,

When you have less time to spare,

Have some patience & bear with me.

Set me free to handle my work,

Only a chance to prove my worth,

So I can be me.

Let me live my life in my style,

With no pressure from outside.

I have a mission to accomplish,

I have my view, likes & dislikes,

I do not yearn to live anyone's life,

Not even restricted by our society.

Let me fly, I have wings,

And they will carry me far,

Let me go higher in the sky,

To uncover my visions,

And the powerful ideas.

Let me leave.

Let me be me if not for years,

Even for some months,

And unspecified days.

I appreciate the concern,

My parent's affection,

But, Let me free.

My ideas are mine,

Let me unravel them.

Sinking in its mystery,

And playing around them.

Let me explore the uncertainty,

Let me set free.

I will come back home,

After my lengthy journey,

You will be proud of me.

We will make memories,

Together forever, then.

Let me go now.

I have a vivid imagination,

To find something unique,

It will be discovered,

Maybe in some years

May not be nearby,

Let me take your blessings.

Tying to you will not benefit,

Neither you nor me anytime,

Give me what I am urging,

The freedom I seek significantly,
