Local Train...

Thousands of people travel together having various destinations

They all have different ambitions

When there is an announcement of a train arriving

To get inside that train first, every person is striving

Climbing on the train is really an art

If you are lucky enough, you get a seat from the start

 And if you are having a great day, you might even get a window seat

The scenery outside the window isn’t that pleasant, yet the accomplishment in itself is a real treat.

At times the compartment is so crammed, that you think the situation can’t possibly worsen

Yet there is always space for one extra person 

People in a local train are always on their toes

And yet they find the time, to make friends from strangers and maybe some annoying foes

When monsoon arrives, it’s a completely different tale

 To reach its destination due to water in the tracks, the train might fail.

To tell you the truth I can’t say that travelling in local train daily is pure magic

In fact many times it turns out to be rather tragic

But I cannot reach where I want to be if it wasn’t for the trains

So what if I have to bear with a little pain

Among millions traveling daily, only a few get a chance to change their life

In this very hope even I am riding the local train day and night!
