Lonely

Sitting alone, feeling lonely, 

As the moon shone brightly,

I hugged my shawl tight.

In the cold winter night.

The breeze blew lightly,

I shivered very slightly,

Yearning for company,

Mood was melancholy.

The clouds have the moon,

Moon has stars strewn.

Stars have one another,

But I, a sad loner.

High was my despair,

Life seems unfair.

Dismal loneliness,

Companionless.

Long seems my wait,

For a worthy mate,

Sitting alone, feeling lonely,
