Love Doesn't Stay
Love Doesn't Stay
Into a life of melancholy
A gust of wind that rushed
Too soon to get your head around
Was it love, or plain lust
Dinner dates and fine wine
Sweetest words, dreamy eyes
So much to talk, hours to pine
Words to please or just a pack of lies
Building castles in the air
Holding hands, romantic trysts
Living life like a fairy tale
Too good to be true; it usually is
You can't place that one moment when
You lose the spark, but carry on
Things get a common place as they will
You know you have lost that dream run
You just felt he was The One
The key to your heart, he did seem so
He still does yet it feels like
Love just flew out the window
And again you go in search
For that bend in the road, a change of song
To take a turn, or change a path
Coz love won't stay back too long
