Magic In The Mundane

Magic In The Mundane

With every second passing by,

Our expectations ascend, climbing trees

We forget, "expectations make us cry",

Yet spurning the wind around, we fall for a synthetic breeze.

If we delight in what is ours and let the greed just sink and drain,

Then, hopefully, we'll have found some magic in the mundane.

We let bury our mediocracy,

And let the untouched stellar haunt.

We again forget, "within, lives the ecstasy"

And worry about either what we don't have or what we want.

We dump our present and then rest in pain,

Failing to find the magic in the mundane.

We can even make the water taste like an elixir

Or even make a lapsed penny look more than a dollar.

We can rise and shimmer in the gloomy dawn,

And believe, what once gone, takes time to be reborn.

If we fail to relive failures and keep them constrained,

Then can we ever find the magic in the mundane?

We need to agape our closed eyes wide,

To believe in the magic that dwells inside.

We need to amplify our leftist perceptions,

To alter our satiety and fix deceptions.

It has always been around waiting for the beholder,

To forge the metal with artistry and wait for it to smoulder.

Alas, things would pirouette in sync and rhyme

Even the worst of the worst would look sublime.

Where we'll finally evolve from human to humane.

There,

We will truly find the magic in the mundane.
