Realm of Silence
Realm of Silence
In the realm of silence, broken
By the chirping of little birds
Nature preening in the style of picture post cards
Blossom of flowers in various hues
Gentle breeze blowing across
Afternoon Sun, a bit mellowed.
Whimsical that she is naturally
A drizzle follows, suddenly.
I see ripples on the little pond
Thoughts too like ripples, in the mind a song of the rain.
Sun playing hide and seek, I look for the rainbow.
Little birds come to life, one I see catching a butterfly, which makes good its escape.
Others busy pecking at the lawn.
I hear the whirring of the wings
As the birds take flight, my heart delights.
Clouds in hues of blue, grey and white
Suddenly the Sun makes its entry, with a swagger and bright.
But the clouds hang on, Sun goes under cover.
Huge tree with a massive canopy, birds resort to, a refuge.
When the Sun finally sets, a chill descended
In the realm silence prevailed once again.
