Seekings
Seekings
I have lit in my swaying thoughts
The radiance of a Spirit wide and nude.
I have sought the breast of a maternal Bliss
In whose embrace grew vastly my life embodied.
I have demanded God’s infinite rapture
Into the empty halls of my despairing mind.
They suddenly became vastnesses of a Spirit higher,
From which grew ethereal shapes of unbound thought.
I was drowned in the white sea of a supernal Sun
And possessed of its limbless glory in my limbs.
I walked upon the bright fields of a golden noon;
All twilight was banished from my heart’s silence.
My body is an ascending curve of a deathless prayer,
It seeks my Lord, my infinite Beloved, my myriad Sire.
