Shakespeare And Rop
Shakespeare And Rop
'Who's the unluckiest ever,' asked the pigeon.
'Shakespeare,' said the wise parrot.
'Who's that!'
'A bard among them, humans, the greatest, some of them say.''
'What of him?'
'Walked subdued among
Friends who said:
"Look at Sophocles, look at Homer whom
None of us could ever match, none of us......"
Now dead and buried,
He's above the bards mentioned. '
'Sad, let's talk of happy things, tell
Me of the luckiest ever.'
'Rop,' said the parrot in a second's half.
'Another bard among them, humans?
Happy alive, praised day and night?'
'Nope, a deep-sea fish, beyond
The reach of men's net or estimate,
Sublime in nature's blue expanse.'
