She Waited For The Day
She Waited For The Day
The budding dreams
Of her blooming eyes
Were broken with the hammer
Of the fallacious social norm.
Not once or twice,
Her dreams were broken in every form.
Yet she kept quiet
And let the enraged dreams
Roll down her cheeks
As she found herself feeble to fight.
She was helpless,
But not desperate
For she knew
Her skills were not adequate
To fight against the stigmatized society
And to deal away with every variety.
She loved the blue sky more and more
And kept watching the flying feathers
Fascinated by the rainbow,
The sailing clouds
And the falling raindrops
From the window sill,
She learned to be patient,
To be determined but decent.
She gained more and more audacity
And made her spine stronger
To deal away with every variety
And assured her dreams
To wait for the day
When she too would have wings
To take off with her dreams.
