Shri Tungtungwala

Shri Tungtungwala

Ago and ago, in a village called Shambala

There lived a man, Shri Ravi Tungtungwala.

Known as the wisest man there, his brain was as sharp as a knife,

And was renowned to give some powerful, amazing vibes.

Shri Tungtungwala was way above sixty, his hair had turned white

But ever if you had seen him, he would have given a smile so bright.

Witty responses to your questions, his knowledge was as big as an ocean,

Everytime he adorned a moustache, his hand always holding a cane.

One day he decided to go on a holy expedition,

To take a dip in the sacred water of Ganges was his main mission.

He boarded the train, which was on the way to Varanasi

And there he met a merchant, all called him Shri Chaturvedi Chauraasi.

Shri Chauraasi was a greedy man,he had come all way from Chulbulstan

He seemed to be quite nice, just a perfect gentleman.

But if you observe him too close;close, close and closely,

You would see his eyes were only glued to Ravi's money.

Whenever Tungtungwala counted all his precious money,

You could see how Chaturvedi was full of jealousy.

So he decided to take all the notes in one go

At the stroke of the midnight hour, Oh! That would be a big blow!

When the bright moon surfaced and the whole world stood still,

The night grew darker and it was quite chill,

Now it’s the right time, Chaturvedi had known,

All he had thought to himself, Ravi's money will be his own.

Alas! Even though he searched for the thousandth time,

He could not get a single one of them, and so he just whined

Rummaging through all his belongings, stealthily moving all across the train,

Yet all his painstaking efforts just went in vain.

Astonishingly, he found all of them the next morning,

They were in Ravi's hands, which were busy with the counting.

Yet every night he woke up, to get hold of the cash,

But all would have disappeared, just as a lighting flash !

He couldn’t hold it too longer, so he enquired Tungtungwala of the money,

And Oh my,my! He gave a reply so funny,

All he said-“Shri Chauraasi, I knew how your character was so low,

So that’s why whenever you were out of sight, I always hid them under your pillow.”
