Silent Night

In the silent beauty of night,

I lie down in the open under moonlight,

The silence surrounds me,

Defines the beauty, I am about to see.

The fire flies in their Zig Zag flight.

Playing hide and seek with the night.

The whispering wafting cool breeze.

Rustling leaves singing love songs to trees

I can hear the nearby stream gushing by.

Amidst the grass, I can hear a silent sigh.

Or is it the streams silent cry.

For it knows on its flowing way, it may die,

If it stands in the way of mans need.

It's a fight between his need and greed.

I look at a sky bathed in moonlight,

stars illuminate the sky, an awesome sight,

I know this beautiful sight won't stay.

For man will always find a way.

To pollute everything he sees.

Whether it's the river, skies, breeze, or trees.

The fire flies says save me, let me fly.

If you destroy the night, I will die.

The river gushing by says, save me,

Don't pollute me, let me flow free.

The trees says allows us to grow,

Cut us down, you will suffer you know.

Don't destroy us, and make us a memory,

For your children a chilling story.

Your children will ask how did fire flies die?

Or where are the streams once gushing by?

Why can't we breathe without mask?

Is this a daily routine a daily task?

Is this the world you left for us to live.

You knew only how to take not to give.

You threw us all under the bus.

When you left this damaged world to us.
