Sweet Mistake
Sweet Mistake
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods maybe
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody but unbowed...
The slips and trips by a blindfold
The ways by my walks
The free knots of chains in my life
I made the mistake to follow my own path.
A mistake to fall in love
Loose mind to believe in its story
Only to find stones and not diamonds
The path with its mundane surroundings.
The joy that took away my soul
How I wish to curse all of the mistakes
But then realized it was better off
To realize, build and believe in me!
The mistakes that became my strengths!
