The Bishnois

The Bishnois

In the arid land of Rajasthan,

Where the sun beats down with a scorching hand,

Lived a people, proud and free,

Known as the Bishnois, a sight to see.

Their love for nature knew no bounds,

Each tree, and each shrub, were renowned.

They lived in harmony with all around,

A way of life, which they found profound.

For them, life was not just about wealth,

But about giving back, and preserving health.

They would plant trees, and tend to them with care,

To ensure that the land remained green and fair.

Their devotion to nature was a way of life,

For they believed that all living things had a right to thrive.

They would protect the deer, and the antelope too,

For they believed that all life was sacred, through and through.

Their story is one of courage and grit,

For they stood up to the kings and didn't quit.

They gave their lives to save a grove,

A sacrifice that still echoes with love.

The Bishnois, are a beacon of hope,

For all those who struggle to cope.

Their message is simple, yet so profound,

To live in harmony, and to keep the earth sound.

So let us remember, the Bishnois of old,

And their love for nature, so pure and bold.

Let us strive to be like them, in every way,

And let our love for nature, forever stay.
