The Faded Floral Glory
The Faded Floral Glory
The Kaas Pathar (Plateau) has
Genuinely been declared World
Heritage by the UNESCO, considering
Its 280 rare, unique wildflowers
And 850 vines, shrubs, plants,
Trees, species, wrapped under
Green-yellow leaves, every day
Blossoming white kumudini flower distinct
From usual Lotus, sprawling lake
Where the visitors were enchanted
With the atmosphere as if enjoying
Heavenly, beauty, tranquillity, solitude
Turned as they were awakened,
Ashamed of, hanging their heads
Under scorching sun as if were
Guilty of destroying millions of
pink floral extravaganza having
blue, yellow, white, purple
Straps spread on high and low
Being area, black stones, prominent
Photos of them made them exclaim
“Awesome, amazing wonderful marvellous”
They were relieved of the dejection
By the enthusiastic guide who
Led them to the eastern part
Of the plateau, that was full of
Small, dark green bushes, variety
Of tiny, colourful, different shape
Flowers bearing interesting local
Names such as Kavala(Crow),
Dhangar Pheta (Shepherd turban)
Mickey Mouse, which amused
The visitors more than the guides
The usual promise of the best flower
Harvest early next year.
