The Final Salutation
The Final Salutation
I lay wounded creeping and crawling,
The bullets in my chest competing against my heart.
I know this time I would find solace in the flag.
I know this is my finale, grand or majestic !
I closed my eyes in the red light of darkness,
Memories moving like heavy clouds.
Some raining, some thundering.
I said to the trees over there,
Please make my parents feel home,
If any of your barks find them.
I said to the snow clad mountains
Please tape record and echo my voice,
That my wife can live this moment a lifetime.
I asked all the 5 elements of this universe to unite us,
Through the water she drinks,
Through the air she breathes,
Through the ether she paints 'Us',
Through the fire which beholds our marital knot,
Through the earth till she breathes,
I am a mission myself and she is the fuel.
I would have died a hundred before my last breath
If I had not talked to her one last time.
The sweetness of her love,
The sterness in her voice
when her heart bursts in pride thinking of me,
The love for our country in her voice is making easier,
To bare the wounds of hatred!
I wish I could touch her one last time,
Before I see the last Sun set.
I know I will live in her memories,
Like a most rated hero!
I will breathe through her fortitude and patriotism!
I would request you the Universe,
To Conspire my inner voice to her inner self
That "I would like to see her in the uniform with my favorite watch."
Let this reverberate in the ears of the creator,
"If I could be born again, I want to be born as the brave son of my Nation. "
Jai Hind!
