THE TINY SHOES
THE TINY SHOES
The night was l dark, and the world slept quietly
A scream, “Thief. Thief “ Woke up rich man’s house
Dozens of armed men started searching around
For a man, who had entered to steal things, precious
Soon the man was caught, as he failed to hide
The house gathered around to see the treasure
What he had managed to steal and why he did
His shivering hands, revealed a pair of tiny red shoes.
I have no money to buy for my kid, he wept
He, my child, is very ill, crying for new shoes
Fearing that he may die, I risked even to steal,
His teary eyes looked around pleading for mercy
Shoes were snatched, only to add the unused pile
The poor thief was chained, sent to the prison dark
The rich man, who had always looted a million poor
Walked all free, his head held high without any shame
