The Tunnel of Fear
The Tunnel of Fear
The tunnel was long and dark
Yet there was no way back
Life had led me here
In the dark and unknown sphere.
Fearful of what lay ahead
I walked on
I was filled with dread
That the tunnel will go on and on.
Soon darkness engulfed me from every side
It kept on becoming constricted
While in the beginning it was very wide
Even my foot movement was restricted.
Yet I knew I had to find out
What lay at the end of tunnel
Whether there was out
Or endless darkness filled the tunnel.
In my mind I have always known
That internal darkness overshadows
The outside darkness of unknown
Opening of third eye may lead to lush green meadows.
The open eyes lead to fear of coming days
The closed eyes to eternal light
The hope springs from morning sunrays
Everyone has internal demons to fight.
As the vast expanse of landscape became visible
The fears became negligible
I knew that the long distance I had yet to traverse
May be more beautiful than any verse.
