Through The Storm

Life is no bed of roses

But a bed of thorns

The heart pierced

The mind lost in thoughts

Leaves one depressed for life

Soon rests in the grave 

Others are stronger through the pain

Only if one's mind and heart find a way out

That's a group am honored to be part of

For out of the depth of pain and shame

God lifted me out of a life of depression

Gave me wings to fly out of the past that held me a prisoner

The journey that took me through the storms of life

At times I wanted to turn my ship for land

But I knew I'd head back to my grave

So kept going to reach the other shore

Landed safely on this land I now am at

For faith and hope I held onto, and God was the captain of my ship
