Unrecognized Wedding
Unrecognized Wedding
This occasion isn’t really ours,
We are here for some roles,
You scattered petals on the floor,
In my hands are precious treasures.
It’s my aunt’s most awaited time
To share with your uncle some rhyme,
Into the sanctuary they climb,
She to him, he to her sublime.
They say they are so much in love,
So set to be each other’s half,
They peck each other like the doves,
As they’re pronounced husband and wife.
All eyes are set toward the two,
People fail to see me and you,
They don’t listen to our “I do,”
What is between us they don’t know.
As your uncle takes my aunt’s hand,
I, too, take yours and you have mine,
The grownups do not understand,
There’s something in us so divine.
