Unrequited Love
Unrequited Love
My heart beats faster at the sound of your name,
But I know you'll never feel the same.
I long for your touch, your warm embrace,
But in your heart, there's no vacant space.
I try to push these feelings aside,
To hide them away, and swallow my pride.
But they linger on, a constant ache,
A reminder of the love I can't make.
It's a one-sided love, a hopeless dream,
An impossible hope, or so it seems.
I know deep down that I should move on,
But the thought of letting go feels all wrong.
So I hold on tight to this unrequited love,
And pray that someday you'll look my way from above.
But until that day, I'll keep it inside,
A secret love that I'll always abide.
