Wars Can't Be...
Wars Can't Be...
Pen is mightier than sword they say
But it takes a sword for the person with a pen to be saved
Pick up weapons only for self-defense
But the best defense is said to be the offence
Independence wasn't won by merely writing letters
In this ideal world, weapons work a lot better.
We all want to live in peace
But it's only the soldiers who provide us that ease
Wars can't be fought with words
Statements are only empty threats which are forgotten immediately after being heard
But violence only gives rise to violence
The only thing achieved by arms is silence.
Where people live in fear instead of dignity
An illusion of peace people are suppressed by malignity
Where fear of punishment is greater than the pride of law
Survival itself is grasping at straws
Where such a crusade only results in ruins and destruction
And in the course of time, people forget the concept of construction.
Wars are not won by weapons either
So what is the remedy if the correct way is neither!
The answer to this question
Is that there isn't the right solution
The thing people always conveniently forget
Is that there isn't winning in a war, only regrets
There might be a feeling of hallow accomplishment
But the end result is general impoverishment.
And is a piece of some inanimate land really worth all the lives lost?
Where the profit earned is always less than the lives cost…
But still, no one can deny wars however unnecessary
Are in fact very crucial and necessary…
War helps to win something which is priceless
Something that provides meaning to existence, which is otherwise lifeless
It's almost ironic how war reduces the value of life to dust and mud
But the price for freedom is always paid in ink, sweat, and blood…
