We Aren't Meant For Each Other
We Aren't Meant For Each Other
I'll write a million poems
To the lovers
Who weren't meant for each other
I'll take their stories
Decorate them with my metaphors
I'll add laughs and tears
And a happy ending.
My poems depict them holding hands
In their late 80's,
With champagne and sunsets
Talking about all the cheesy things They did in their early 20's.
My poems portray their life
With passion and profession
And describe those songs
Sung by this excited father
To his child in utero.
My poems picturize the soft cuddles after their candle light dinners
And how they spent their nights
By whispering poems in each other's ears.
My poems delineate
Their transition
From two goofy teens to
A mature middle age couple
My poems pronounce
Their late night walks
And the comfortable silence
That filled up the trifling space
That struggled inbetween them.
Because, I am an old soul poet
Who was taught to believe
In fantasies and forevers
Than good byes and the reality.
And again...
I'll write a million poems
To the lovers
Who weren't meant for each other
I'll take their stories
Decorate them with my metaphors
I'll add laughs and tears
And a happy ending.
