A Rainy Day

A Rainy Day

On a Rainy Day, our school remains closed. So I have to stay at home all day long. Yesterday, it was raining heavily since morning, so our teachers informed our parents that it was a holiday.

I watched the rain through the window while I lay on the bed. I love the smell of wet clay when it rains. I like watching the white clouds on all days, but on a rainy day, the cloudy sky is all grey. As I watched it rain, at times I could see a long line of light flashing up in the sky. I hid my face in the pillow as I am scared of lightning & the spooky sound of thunder.

I love Rainy Days for the paper boats and rainbows but when I looked at the other side of the street, I could see people walking through the water with their trousers folded high up. The kids who stayed on the roadside had no clothes and had put on plastic bags to cover their heads. Also, the vegetable vendor at the end of the street had covered his vegetables with a very big plastic cover. There was water everywhere in the streets and not many happy faces could be seen.

Well, rain is important for us. If it doesn't rain, we will not have enough water. Therefore, it should rain but not very heavily. It shouldn't get flooded because floods can cause tremendous damage.
