Prof. Ravikiran was enjoying the aroma of coffee sip by sip in Pavan Inn '' a famous hotel in Pavanpur. Suddenly, he became terribly upset. The enjoyment disappeared as soon as he touched the rear pocket of trouser. It was empty. He lost ten thousand rupees due to pickpocketing. He had no money left to pay the hotel bill. The proprietor of the hotel observed his uneasiness and asked,

"Sir, what is the matter?"

"Arvind, I lost cash by pickpocket. Keep my bill due. "

"Okay sir. Do you want any help?"

asked Arvind.

"No, Thank you. "

He left home riding his old bicycle

Just a few minutes back, he withdrew money from the ATM and kept the currency notes in the rear pocket of his blue trouser. bRavikiran had suspicion on maid Mahadevi. She was the only lady standing behind him at the ATM. After reaching home, called Mahadevi and rebuked her for stealing the money. Mahadevi denied the charges politely. Both had an argument for sometime. On hearing loud voices, Ravikiran's wife Sharada arrived and said,

"Prof. Ravikiranji, I told you several times not to use the blue trouser. You have not noticed the bottom of the rear pocket open. You have become an absent minded professor. Here is your money. "

Ravikiran was perturbed and said,

"I am not as absent minded as you think. "

Sharada just smiled.

"Okay! You must be aware that in old age absent mindedness is common," said Ravikiran.

"I do agree with you. Why don't you consult a physician? told Sharada.

"First, let me know how you got the money?" '' said Ravikiran.

She replied, "I told Mahadevi to be in the ATM before you reach. She was waiting outside. As soon as you entered, she was behind you. The same thing happened as I expected. You left hurriedly just keeping the currency notes in the rear pocket and did not see cash falling down on the floor. She called you. But you didn't turn up. By the time I reached the ATM, she was waiting outside and gave me money. I paid her three hundred rupees as a reward for her honesty. "

"Mahadevi, I appreciate your role of spying. Please excuse me for suspecting you," said Ravikiran.

One day, after a fortnight, Ravikiran told Sharada that he wanted to donate the same blue trouser to a poor student. But Sharada refused to donate as the trouser was not only a brand new but imported material. Ultimately, Prof. Ravikiran had given up the idea of donation. She got it stitched to the bottom of rear pocket.
