Biranj, my favorite food is the pride of Babhan community of Magadh. This special dish is prepared and served during marriages. The food is relished by everyone and leaves a lingering taste. This food is cooked by Babhans only and they do not charge any amount. Before they set for the preparation traditional ritual is performed and at the end of the process, we offer them a Dhoti as Dakshina. Samjeera Basmati, traditionally small rice with a variety of spices and dry fruit is purchased from Kanhai Sahu of Gaya. A huge amount is incurred in getting the dish prepared. The traditionally prepared dish is served to the people sitting in a row with much respect. It is not taken as a buffet.

First, in a simple pattal (Plate), Rice, Dal, two to three Sabji, Dahi Bada, Papad are served and then before we start eating Ghee simply called Pavitry. Once, we finish this plate, they started serving another plate. This is for curd, sugar, and rice. Another round is also over. Very delicious, tasty round of course. But still, the main course is missing. They started serving a plate again to us for awaited Biranj. What is Biranj? It is full of dry fruit and mix of more than 100 Indian spices. Words would not suffice to express the real taste of Biranj. This is divine in taste and experience. Anna Brahma, if food is god then Biranj is the king of all food. Unforgettable moment.
